Pegasus Solutions' RezView Central Reservation System Named ``World's Leading Hotel Reservation Service'' for Second Consecutive Year
DALLAS Oct. 15, 2003 More Than 8,000 Hotels Employ RezView to Manage Bookings, Rates and Distribution
Pegasus Solutions' RezView(R) hotel central reservation system (CRS) has won a prestigious World Travel Award, earning recognition as the "World's Leading Hotel Reservation Service" for the second year in a row. Sponsored by the World Travel Group, a prominent travel industry media firm, the Tenth Annual World Travel Awards honored companies for successful high-level contributions to the global travel community.
Pegasus executives received the award earlier this week during the World Travel Awards ceremony at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. Dallas-based Pegasus Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:PEGS) is a leading worldwide provider of hotel reservations-related services and technology.
More than 8,000 properties around the world rely on Pegasus' RezView to automate critical hotel transactions. Used on an application service provider (ASP) basis, RezView gives hotel chains and management groups the tools they need to manage real-time inventory and maximize revenue per available room. Enhancements in the latest version gives RezView users greater control over rates distributed via Internet distribution channels, as well as multi-language text conversion for international markets.
The system connects properties to global distribution systems and Pegasus' Online Distribution Network, which includes thousands of travel Web sites. RezView also interfaces with a wide range of hotel property management systems.
A number of renowned hotel companies, including Fairmont Hotels, Kimpton Hotels, Leading Hotels of the World, Loews Hotels, Nikko Hotels, and the Savoy Group utilize the Pegasus CRS. Orient-Express Hotels, with 41 properties in 17 countries, is the latest international hotel chain to select RezView to manage its everyday property, distribution, and reservation services.
"We are honored to win this award for the second year in a row," said Bob Boles, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Pegasus Solutions. He added: "We believe this award reflects positively upon our ongoing commitment to deliver services hoteliers need to efficiently operate in a challenging economic environment. And we plan to continue our role as a leader in this arena by working with hoteliers to build the next generation of CRS applications, enhancing the attributes of RezView with tools that both big chains and independent hotels can use to better manage their everyday operations."
